    You have done a very good work and this is what I have been looking for. I’ve tested it in ver. and it works.

    However, as my site under construction is a multi-lingual site having 2 store views, could you help out in upgrading your plug in to version that matches such needs.

    It works fine on ver but the problem is that it doesn’t export/import category ID so when you import your products they keep their old category ID’s and everything is messed up. This is a major problem if you have a lot of products and categories.

    If you want the categories ids as well open the file app/code/local/Mageworks/Core/Helper/Category.php and below $data = array();
    add this -> $data[] = array (‘field’ => ‘entity_id’, ‘label’ => ‘ID’,’required’ => ‘yes’);

    I managed to export from magento 1.7 and the CSV looks good. Then tried to import to magento 1.8. I get the following message:

    Starting import profile execution.
    Found 67 rows.
    Then I get for each row, the following error message.
    Path provided is not a valid one.
    what mistake am I making?

    Great extension and easy to install. Great work!

    I have one issue that is essential for my usage, which I hope you can help me with. When I export the categories, I only get the top level categories.

    Is there a file, where I can change the settings for this, so it takes all categeries and sub categories?

    I hope you can guide me.

    Thanks very much for sharing!

    I am new to Magento, so I diligently downloaded, updated (as Jan 10 comment to include category ids), copied to our 1.8, cleared cache, exported, updated data and subsequently imported. Guess what – it all ran perfectly – don’t seem to get that very often with solutions made freely available.

    You have done many people a great service with this and provide me with an insight into how we may develop modules of our own in the future.

    Should we need specialist help, I know who we’ll approach first.

    Many thanks,

    Indeed there is a problem when using this extension to import categroies in Magento 1.8. The main categories work fine, only at the subcategories, there is the “Path provided is not a valid one.” error. Would be nice if this could be solved!

    I did have this working but now doesnt seem to playing ball. I see the mageworks extension at the top but when i click on it just brings down the normal export import, without being able to sort out categories?

    Thanks for this useful extension.

    My import process goes fine. It seems Yes/No values also get updated fine. I can’t get meta descriptions added though. I’m using the export csv file as my template. I’m using excel to add they texts. I clear the cache both using mangeto and manually.

    What do you suggest?

    Thanks. Great extension. Great work!
    It would be better if it added a check box for the option Select All in Export Profiles page and Category ID column in excel export result file.

    The plugin is working fine when I am logging in as super admin. But when I am logging in from some other role, then when I am clicking on Export Categories link, I am getting Access Denied.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated

    But anyways, this is a wonderful extension
